Free range Bachini

Thanks to Alice Bachini for this link to the Free Range Education website. You probably thought, what with me having started BEdBlog, that I would already know about things like that. Wrong. I started BEdBlog to find out about things like that.

Alice also has some mock-nave yet substantial thoughts of her own about Home Educating. Or as she puts it, "Home "Educating"(?)" She's not convinced, in other words, because it's too much like school.

Alice also included a link to something called Choice in Education, although in a manner which suggests that maybe this was a temporary error on her part. It sounds as if it will soon be good, but so far I haven't been able to get past the new front-end, so maybe they're still working on it and Alice left it in her posting by mistake.

This link worked fine.

Just put yourself on Choice's mailing list. They sent out to recent newsletters regarding reading and writing that were really quite good.

I think I am going to have to make the effort to read Alice Bachini eventhough I can never get to her site (All those underscores apparantly.)

If you want to watch a group of home educators bantering with each other then go to this forum: http://mikepeach.suddenlaunch.com

There are several unschoolers there, the odd teacher, some 'home schoolers' and several people just bouncing along day to day doing the home education thing.

One day all schools will be this way. Children at home getting one to one attention from the people who care about them most...their parents. No stress, no bullying, no curriculum, no failure...just learning.
