Someone called "Kate" has just added an interesting comment to this posting here, which I mention (a) because it is an interesting comment which y'all might want to read but would probably otherwise miss, and (b) because Kate supplies a link to her own blog, which looks very interesting and very fun.
Gratuitous picture there of someone whom Kate hasn't married yet.
Y'all? Are you planning to join Alice in TX?
Hi Daryl
I just thought it would be useful, is all. To use another Americanism.
No travel plans. What would happen with Paradise Primary?
Agreed. "Y'all" is a terrific word. True story: I'm from SC where everyone says it. When I started working in NJ I had to attend mandatory diversity training. Part of the session involved an African-American telling us (via video) that he didn't like it when "white people" used the word "y'all" because that was racist. I asked the instructor if "youse-guys" was also racist. That may have been the beginning of the end of my career.
